Cal Patch returns to Rockland for a Long Weekend of Sewing, Making, and Mending

Because being together is good medicine when the world feels hard to hold.
Because making things can help us make sense.
Because ilearning how to make and mend our own clothes is empowering
and offers you skills you can share with your community.

I’m happy to announce that my dear pal and partner in patchwork Cal Patch is returning to Rockland in April for a long weekend of sewing, making and mending. Workshops can be taken individually, or you can build a sweet Springtime retreat for yourself and take all three!

We’ll begin on Thursday, April 24th with an evening Visible Mending class.
On Friday Cal will teach her iconic day long Boxy Tee class which is an excellent introduction to drafting patterns from your own measurements.

And back by popular demand, we’ll co-teach the workshop we’ve been developing over the past few years, PIECE OUT,, a playful mash-up of patchwork and boxy tops in which we’ll show you 4 different ways to make a patchwork top or tunic. Only this time, we’re making it a 2 day class, to give folks time to experiment with each technique , and have enough time to complete a garment of their own design.

Day-long workshops include a hearty lunch and snacks. A limited number of sewing machines are available to rent if you are coming from out of town and want to travel light.

Read about each of the classes below, and click on the links to register.
Hope to share some sweet making time with you this Spring!
